Padgett's Career Summary

Former William and Mary standout infielder Kyle Padgett enters his fourth season on the Tribe baseball staff in 2011. Padgett assists primarily with the hitters and outfielders, while his game duties include serving as the third base coach. Additionally, he assists with administrative and field maintenance duties.

Since his return to Williamsburg in 2008, Padgett has helped the Tribe hit for an average of .307. Also during his tenure, Padgett has helped the Tribe garner four All-American honors and six All-CAA awards for positional players. In 2008, the Tribe hit an astounding .343 as a team and averaged 8.5 runs a game.

After a stellar career at the College, Padgett was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 18th round of the 2005 MLB Draft. He played most of the 2005 season with the Gulf Coast League Marlins before spending the majority of the following season with the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Florida State League. Padgett was a member of the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League in 2007.

Padgett finished his career at W&M with a .288 batting average, 18 home runs, 138 RBI and 132 runs scored. He ranks ninth on the program’s all-time list for games played (196) and 10th in games started (178). Padgett’s best season came as a senior when he hit .311 with nine home runs, 52 RBI and 46 runs scored.

A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Padgett graduated from the College with a bachelors of science degree in kinesiology. Padgett resides in Williamsburg with his wife, Lauren, who graduated from the College in 2007 and lettered four years in soccer.
