Tribe Menís Golf in Fifth Place after Two Rounds at the ODU Intercollegiate

Powells Point, N.C. - The William and Mary Tribe menís golf team followed up its school-record setting first round total of 280 (-8) at the ODU Intercollegiate on Sunday by carding a team total of 296 (+8) in the second round on Monday. William and Mary sits in fifth place after two rounds with a score of 576 (E), while East Carolina leads all teams with a score of 552 (-24).

With its rounds of 280-296, the Tribe menís golf team totaled a 36-hole score of 570 (E), which is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole team score in William and Mary history. On Sunday, the team carded a first round total of 280 (-8), which was the best 18-hole score in school history.

Freshman Nick Schaffer continued his great play on Monday for the Tribe. A day after carding a 67 (-5), Schafer shot a 73 (+1) to end the day in a tie for seventh. With his two-round total of 140 (-4), Schafer is now tied for the sixth-best 36-hole score in program history.

Sophomore Jeremy Wells continued his consistent play on Monday, carding a 72 (E) to end the first two rounds with a score of 143 (-1), tying him for 15th place. Senior Brandon Parker is tied for 50th heading into the final round with a total of 149 (+5).

Rounding out the Tribeís effort through 36 holes are freshman Tanner Taddeo and senior Zach Glassman. Taddeo is tied for 55th with a score of 150 (+6), while Glassman is tied for 65th with a total of 151 (+7).

The William and Mary Tribe menís golf team will look to make a charge up the leaderboard at the ODU Intercollegiate on Tuesday, when teams will play the third and final round. Live stats for the tournament can be found at
