Mike Godsil enters his first season as an assistant coach with William and Mary and will work primarily with the tight ends.
Godsil joins the Tribe coaching staff after serving as a graduate assistant at Liberty last season. Godsil worked primarily with the offensive line and helped the Flames post an 8-3 record en route to winning the programís third-consecutive league title.
During his one-year stint with LU, he also worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. In that role, he was responsible for assisting with the design and implementation off all football workouts.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Godsil was a four-year starter at Liberty where he earned All-America honors as a senior. A two-time all-conference selection, he helped lead the Flames to back-to-back league titles and earn a national ranking as high as 13th. Godsil served as a captain during his senior season and set a school record with a 550-pound bench press.
Following his collegiate career, Godsil was a captain and starting center for the Colorado Ice of the IFL.
A four-time Big South Conference All-Academic Team selection, Godsil earned a degree in sports management from LU in 2009.
Godsil and his wife, Nikki, recently gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Kaylee.
