Jonathan Small enters his first year as Director of Football Operations with the Tribe football staff. Among his numerous responsibilities are assisting in the coordination of travel, meals, housing, recruiting, and other logistics pertaining to the football program.
Prior to coming to the College, Small worked as an assistant coach at Charleston Southern University from 2006-07. While with the Buccaneers, he served as the Quarterbacks Coach and Video Coordinator.
Most recently, Small held the position of New Business Development Intern with at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World. In addition to creating and implementing new events for the organization, he served as an assistant project manager for ESPN RISE Games and was the project manager and creator of the Premiere 7ís High School Football Passing Camp.
While earning a masterís degree in sport business at Georgia State University from 2007-09, Small served as the Sales and Marketing Intern for The PGA TOURís Tour Championship in Atlanta, Ga.
Small has also worked as an intern and Game Day Operations Assistant with the Charleston Riverdogs, the Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
In addition to earning a masterís degree in sport business management from Georgia State in 2009, he earned a bachelorís degree in business administration from Charleston Southern University in 2006.
His father, Hank Small, is the Athletics Director at Charleston Southern University and spent over thirty years as a college football coach.
