Lewis Woodard Named CAA Track Athlete of the Week

RICHMOND, VA - William and Mary junior Lewis Woodard (Charlotte, N.C.) was named Track Athlete of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association Tuesday, after an award-winning weekend for the harrier. Woodard is the fifth Tribesman to earn a weekly award this spring.

On Thursday at the Penn Relays, Woodard was one-half of the College's title-winning duo after he captured gold in the 5,000m, in a career-fast time of 14:01.51. The performance qualified him for the IC4A Championships, as well as ranking him 20th in the East Region and 56th overall in the NCAA. Woodard's previous-fast time was 14:12.46, set three weeks ago at the Colonial Relays.

Woodard and the Tribe head to Fairfax, Virginia this weekend, looking for the program's first CAA Championship since 2004.
