Tribe Finishes Menís Gymnastics Season at NCAAs

West Point, N.Y. - The College of William and Maryís menís gymnastics squad finished its 2010 competitive schedule on Friday evening when senior team co-captain Derek Gygax (Stevensville, Md.) finished 18th in the all-around during the second-round of the NCAA Championships on Friday evening on the campus of the United States Military Academy.

As a team, the Tribe ended the regular season ranked 14th nationally, having turned in a second-place showing at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships and a third-place finish at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.

On Friday evening, Gygax put together a six-event total of 82.15. The winner was Michiganís Chris Cameron (90.15), who also helped his Wolverines to the National Championship on Friday evening. The top eight all-around scores from the event earned All-America honors. Gygax will end his career as one of six gymnasts in school history to be named a finalist for the Nissen-Emery award (given annually to the top senior menís gymnast in the nation).
