Tribe Wraps Up Season at USAG Collegiate Nationals

DENTON, Texas - The William and Mary women’s gymnastics team earned a fourth-place finish in Session II at the USAG Collegiate Nationals on Thursday evening in Denton, Texas. Texas Women’s University won the session with a score of 193.500 and was followed by Cornell (191.675), Temple (191.375) and William and Mary (190.800).

Teenie Beck highlighted the Tribe’s performance, as she placed tied for second overall in all-around with a score of 38.700. Additionally, she placed among the top 10 overall on vault, bars and beam, and advances to the individual event finals on Saturday.

Kristin Milardo and Melissa Cream also performed well in all-around and finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

W&M opened the meet on vault where it recorded a team score of 47.650. Beck was the Green and Gold’s top scorer, as she registered a 9.700 to place tied for seventh overall. Milardo also aided the effort with a 9.625.

As she did on vault, Beck also tied for seventh place overall on bars with a 9.675 to help the team record a 47.175.

The Tribe then moved to beam where it earned a season-high 48.025. Beck tied for 10th in the event and nearly equaled a career high with a 9.675, while Karla Bercaw totaled a season-best 9.625. Cream and Milardo also came up big with a 9.600 and a 5.575, respectively, while Stephanie Bevan posted a 9.575.

In the final rotation of the evening, W&M recorded a 47.950 on floor. Dina McNaughton and Beck led the Tribe with a pair of 9.650s, while Milardo and Cream earned a 9.600 and a 9.550, respectively.
