W&M's Jon Grey Selected to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK - William and Mary's men's track and field team will be represented at this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships for the second year in a row, after All-American Jon Grey (Lancaster, Pa.) was seeded 13th in the 5,000m run.

Complete Declaration List

Grey reached the national meet on the strength of his career-fast 13:52.11, a time he ran last month at Virginia Tech. The performance was the fifth-fastest indoors in school history, and Grey is just the second athlete to run under 14 minutes in the event, along with Matt Lane '01 who set the indoor record of 13:43.36 while taking second at the 2001 NCAA Championships. Grey's time would have placed him seventh in last year's meet.

The men's 5,000m will be run as a one-section final Friday night, March 12, at 8 p.m. Central. The NCAA Championships are being hosted by the University of Arkansas, at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
